Will I need a fitting Kit for my Valve?
Q: Should I use a twin or single piston atmospheric venting valve?
A: The Twin Piston range of Valves have been specifically designed to help prevent rough idling in vehicles fitted with MAF (Mass Airflow) Sensors.
Q: When should I use a single piston atmospheric venting valve?
A: Single Piston valves are ideally suited for Vehicles without MAF
Sensors i.e. Sierra Cosworth, Renault 5 Turbo etc.
Q: Can I fit an Atmo Valve in place of a re-circulation/diverter valve?
A: Replacing a Re-circ or Diverter Valve with an atmospheric venting Valve can be tricky, by doing this you can cause the engine check light to illuminate and create management issues with your ECU. Samco sport lists a range of vehicles which this Modification has been tested on; please consult your supplier or the SamcoSport website for details.
Q: Will I get a power increase by fitting a Blow off Valve or Diverter
Valve to my engine?
A: You will not gain any power by fitting either type of Valve, but it will
Reduce lag, which will allow the turbo to spool up faster, they are
merely a device to release trapped boost pressure created by the
Turbocharger inside the inlet track and thus reduce turbo lag. A power increase will only be noticeable if your existing valve is faulty.
Q: Will I need a fitting Kit for my Valve?
A: Some Valves will require a custom fitting kit which may include a
Samco replacement hose. All SamcoSport vehicle specific fitting kits, which are listed on our Fitting Kits page, contain all the necessary hose clamps, Vac tube and adaptors.
